The Butch Bliss Advantage
Conversion to hydraulic roll force system
If you haven't done so already, now may be the time to convert your old, inefficient electro-mechanical mill screwdowns to a new hydraulic roll force system. Butech Bliss systems provide outstanding roll gap control with very low maintenance. In most cases, mills can be retrofitted with our tandem piston roll force actuators without any machining to the mill housings. For this reason, we are able to provide a roll force system with excellent separating force capacity in a small envelope at relatively low pressure. Typical systems include the roll force actuators, hydraulic power unit, valve stand, roll gap regulator and automation package. Regardless of the mill size or type. Butech Bliss can retrofit it with a new hydraulic roll force system.
Work roll bending with shape measurement and control
In order to achieve the very tight flatness tolerance required in the marketplace today, it is essential that modern rolling mills utilize some type of shape measurement procedures. These procedures may include roll bending, skewing, and using zoned sprays (where appropriate), shape measurement rolls and a closed-loop shape control systems. Butech Bliss can assist customers with anything from the most basic system to the most sophisticated. Depending on your application, systems may include positive and negative roll bending cylinders, hydraulic power units, valve stands, zoned coolant control headers, shape measurement rolls and automation systems. Butech Bliss can develop a solution that best fits your product requirements and budget.
Quick work roll change system
Productivity problems? Perhaps the difficulty is with your existing work or back-up roll change schemes. Obviously the biggest drain on productivity is mill down time. In most cases convertiing to a more efficient work roll change operation can be justified in a very short period based on the productivity improvements alone. Butech Bliss can offer a wide variety of work roll change options. Depending on your mill type and application, we can propose an optimal solution for you. Whether you're looking to change work rolls in 10 minutes on a small single-stand mill or 2 minutes on a large multi-stand tandem mill, Butech Bliss can help.
New auxiliary equipment
Butech Bliss product offerings include just about any type of auxiliary equipment associated with rolling or coil processing applications. Over the years Butech Bliss has provided countless numbers of coil cars, prep stations, conveyors, uncoilers, recoilers, upcoilers, downcoilers, guides, and shears, not to mention auxiliary systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication mill coolant and electrical. It's safe to say that if what you want is associated with a rolling mill, Butech Bliss can be of service.
Downcoilers
Butech Bliss has a long history of proven concepts in hot mill downcoilers. We were the first to provide a downcoiler with an expanding mandrel. We developed patented two-slide, four-roll downcoilers many years ago; this rugged design opened up new markets to many of our customers.
The new Butech Bliss downcoiler design includes hydraulically actuated wrapper arms with an automatic "jump" control feature and quick-pivot outboard bearing support.
Today, Butech Bliss has designed, built, installed and commissioned a new downcoiler engineered to coil thick, high-strength pipe product, which is some of the most difficult-to-coil product to come off a hot strip mill. The mandrels used in the Butech Bliss coilers are designed for a minimum 2 million tons and have proven themselves in numerous locations. Many older downcoilers can be refurbished at a significant savings over the cost of new equipment. Even downcoilers with many years of service can be upgraded and rebuilt in our 400,000 square foot Technology Center. We are experts at converting units from the older linkage design to a modern pivot design.
